Supervisor, Canterbury

Hours: 20 hours per week

Location: Garage Coffee Roasters, 17 Sun Street, Canterbury, CT1 2HX.

Salary: £12.02/ph

Start Date: ASAP

Garage Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee business with stores across East Kent. We source and roast high grade, speciality coffee and serve through our shops and wholesale partners.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the shop. This will include developing coffee skills within the team, ordering, stock rotation and housekeeping standards.
  • Lead shifts and give instruction to the team to ensure the smooth running of the shop.
  • Delivering great customer service & inspire those around you.
  • Share Garage Coffee’s mission & vision with customers and staff
  • Adhering to any health and safety requirements and always maintaining a clean and tidy coffee shop
  • Run trial shifts to support Operations Manager with recruitment of new starters.
  • Learn to communicate and delegate effectively to other members of staff, to ensure smooth day to day running of the shop.
  • Demonstrate passion for coffee taking a lead in making sure staff are always consistent in their coffee standards
  • Effectively communicating with upline, making sure issues and queries are dealt with efficiently.
  • Providing input into our food offering and ensuring efficient service is provided.
  • Overseeing all food preparation and making sure items made in store are done so to a high quality.

What you need- the must haves:

  • At least 12 months experience in a hospitality/customer-facing role
  • Be keen to lead and inspire those around them.
  • Be enthusiastic, adaptable and show you are ready to take on management responsibilities.
  • Great communication skills with a ‘can-do’ team attitude
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and think critically.
  • Confident working alone for whole shifts
