Roaster's Notes: This is a very special coffee from Peru, which has been sourced as part of Project 121, connecting small scale farmers to small roasters. This coffee makes for great espresso, with classic chocolate-y body and sweet vanilla notes.

Notes: Lucía Muñoz Guevara was born in Jaén and comes from a family of 9. She is 49 years old and has 6 children. Her finca is called Los Cedros because she sowed many seeds of the Cedar tree on her land. Her older sister María Ester and her son-in-law César Sanpertegui help her out on the Farm. Most of her kids are at college and, one is studying to be a pharmacist and the other is training to be a cupper at the cooperative.

She inherited the Farm from her father, who gave her 3 hectares, 1.5 of which are dedicated to coffee. She loves coffee and drinks it daily. She also cultivates fruit and vegetables and sells them on the local market.

Lucía has been a member of Sol & Café since 2010 and is part of the Santa María association, 2 hours drive from the city of Jaén. During this time she has shown himself to be a very capable producer committed to producing quality coffee. She is always looking at ways to innovate and she continues to produce some of the best coffee in the region.

Brew Guide

Espresso: This coffee works really nicely as espresso. Try a dose of 18.7g, extract for around 24-26 seconds to get a yield of 36g.
