Barista, Herne Bay

Hours: 20 hours per week (fixed term until 31/10/24)

Shift Pattern: Monday - Tuesday, 8 hours per shift & Saturday or Sunday, 4 hours per shift

Location: Garage Coffee Roasters, 18 Richmond Street, Herne Bay. CT6 5LP.

Salary: £11.45/ph

Start Date: 19/04/24

Garage Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee business with stores across East Kent. We source and roast high grade, speciality coffee and serve through our shops and wholesale partners.

We are looking for a barista to join our Herne Bay team as it undergoes a small transformation to include inside seating, and to help build upon the foundation we have set so far.

In this role, you will be working with our Head Barista to keep standards high and support them during our busiest periods.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain excellent latte art skills
  • Be able to deliver great customer service & inspire those around you
  • Pitch in with all duties that come with operating a busy coffee shop, including maintaining high standards of cleanliness front and back of house
  • Enjoy working in a team environment, being able to multitask & communicate effectively
  • To adhere to any health and safety requirements and maintain a clean and tidy coffee shop at all time, including opening and closing duties
  • Daily food preparation, making sure items made in store are done so to a high quality.

What you need- the must haves:

  • Ideally be a skilled barista, although full training will be provided
  • A passion for coffee (particularly speciality)
  • A desire to share the Garage Coffee vision with customers, promoting coffee consumption by educating customers in an accessible way about all things speciality coffee and our bakery products
  • Great attitude
  • To be flexible with your working hours
