Alexander Vargas was 13 years old when he started working with coffee at his neighbour’s farm. He spent many years there planting, stumping, fertilizing, picking the caturras of his neighbour who was one of the early adopters of specialty coffee practices in South Huila.
Alexander Vargas grows exceptional Colombian coffee on 14 hectares in South Huila's high-altitude region. A multi-time Cup of Excellence competitor, he meticulously hand-selects cherries and parchment to eliminate defects caused by the area's challenging climate.
His commitment to quality, combined with recent investments in shade trees and crop diversification, reflects a farmer dedicated to both excellence and sustainability.
