Featuring our first honey process coffee as Oast House espresso, and the chocolate heavy number has landed from Colombia. A really great body on espresso, but very floral on the nose with notes of parma violets.
Gerardo Meneses is a producer who recently turned 90 years old. He is an example of strength and passion for coffee. Gerardo inherited the farm from his parents and passed on his trade to his children and grandchildren, who now take care of the farm work and coffee production. Despite his age, he walks daily through his farm, called SAN ISIDRO LABRADOR, in homage to his devotion to his patron saint and his Catholic faith. In his community, he led the construction of the main road and the formation of the "La Castilla" village. In times past, when internet access was unavailable, he was visited by students to share his knowledge and access his personal library. Without a doubt, every visitor who passes by his home will be greeted with a good cup of coffee, overflowing joy, and a speech that includes the history of the country, his personal poetry, and a big, contagious smile.
