Roastery Assistant

Location: Garage Coffee Roasters, Southview, Maypole Lane, Hoath, Canterbury, Kent. CT3 4LL.

Salary: £11.45 per hour

Hours: 14 hours per week (7 hour shifts over 2 days) 

Interview Date: Thursday 9th May

We are on the look out for somebody to join our roastery team. You'll be working at the heart of our operation, processing orders to go out to our wholesale and online customers.

Day-to-day you'll be packing orders, managing stock and keeping operations ticking over with excellent customer service and time management skills.

There will also be the opportunity to learn the roasting process and get involved in our sensory cupping sessions.

The Role

  • At least 1 years’ experience within hospitality, retail or logistics
  • Prepare online and wholesale orders for dispatch
  • Maintain the organisation of the roastery including regular cleaning of equipment and stock takes
  • Assist with general operational duties like contacting prospective wholesale clients, some account management, and marketing
  • Take part in cupping sessions and coffee quality control checks
  • A willingness to represent Garage Coffee at events and markets as and when required
  • Enjoy working in a team and independent environment
  • Knowledge of shipping, fulfilment or online shop software preferable
  • To adhere to any health and safety requirements and maintain a clean and tidy workspace at all time
  • Ideally be a skilled barista, although full training will be provided
  • A passion for coffee (particularly speciality)
  • Great attitude, with the ability to deliver great customer service & inspire those around you – sharing the Garage Coffee vision with all those you come in contact with while within your role
  • To be flexible with your working hours
  • A full driving license is essential due to the location of the roastery
